Wow dancers! We have had some fabulous exam results in 2018! Studio D humbly boasts a 100% pass rate for our exams once again!
So proud of dancers who set and achieved their goals, by working diligently in class, taking up all opportunities for extra classes, participating fully in their practise exams and of course practising at home!
Congratulations dancers, teachers and parents on these fabulous results. Dancers, we hope you are inspired to continue working hard for the rest of the year. It was beautiful to watch how excited you were for your friends’ results and how positively you congratulated each other.
Sometimes exams can be intimidated and results might not be what we expected, but the support from fellow dancers makes it better. If you didn’t get the result you hoped for, make sure you read through the feedback, seek advice from your teachers, and come into class determined grow and learn more. Remember results are one person’s opinion based on one day of dance, and the SFD reports are designed to help all dancers improve.
Look our for our next post about our Honours with Distinction Exam results! We have had some gorgeous reactions from dancers, that we can’t wait to share!
Today marks the end of our exam season! Congratulations to all dancers, teachers and parents. We are extremely proud of our exam candidates, and know you all worked very hard with your teachers in order to demonstrate your best dancing.
Thank you to our parents who provided such yummy food for our examiners to enjoy during the long exam days.
Exam results are eagerly anticipated and have already started arriving! Presentation dates for results will be emailed out to families, parents are welcome to join the class to watch the presentation of results. We are excited to announce that we have already received a number of Honours with Distinction results! Honours with Distinction is the highest mark a dancer can receive for their Southern Federation of Dance Exams! Can’t wait to see the reactions of these hardworking, talented students.
A big congratulations to everyone involved in our annual Studio D Own Choreography Competition and Special Performance Day!
Dancers are able to showcase their choreography talents by performing solos, duos and trios. They can also participate in improvisation sections, and can have their exam dances critiqued. We also showcase our non-exam classes like lyrical, hip hop, contemporary and our pre-school/pre-primary classes.
The performances last week were beautiful, inspiring, and thoughtful, it was clear how hard our students had worked on their routines. It was also lovely to see the progress of our non-exam classes. Thank you to all teachers and volunteers who worked together to make the day such a success!
Check out some on the beautiful photos below, it was way too hard to choose just one for the cover picture!
Our Dance Aid class was lucky enough to be invited to perform in the Beats on Pointe Pre-Performance Showcase. These girls did a fabulous job and we are excited to see their routine again at Dance Aid in June.
Thank you to Claire for the stunning choreography.
Check out a little bit of their performance on our instagram @studiod_danceschool
I am extremely proud of the amazingly talented Tash Bannon who has been accepted into the Rockettes Summer Intensive Workshop in New York City. Dedication and hard work really does pay off. A dream come true for this dancer. I can see your name in lights already! The future is bright for you Tash, follow your dreams and never give up!
Can’t wait to see what you get up to in New York! Best of luck!!!
Woweee what a great time we had at Moomba this year!
Congratulations dancers and to their teacher Ally for a gorgeous performance. Special mention to Alana who was featured on her own float design as the music box ballerina, check out her gorgeous costume and make up below!
We love participating in Moomba and already can’t wait for 2019!
Check out our fabulous Moomba class as they dance with the Ballerina float, on Channel 7 at 11am on Monday the 12th of March!
What makes this parade even more special is that the float was designed by one of our very own dancers, Alan! Alana entered a float design competition last year, and drew a beautiful picture of a music box float. Her design was selected and once the Moomba organisers found out Alana was a talented ballerina they just had to feature her on the float!
Can’t wait to watch Alana and Ally’s Moomba class grace the parade route on Monday!
Two of our Junior dancers, Hannah and Tahlia were given the opportunity to dance with the Melbourne City Ballet, in their December production of The Nutcracker!
We know it was a magical experience for the girls. It has been so exciting for our Studio D dancers to participate in professional ballets across Victoria! We hope there are many more performances to come!
At our Studio D All Stars Concert last weekend, we were so pleased to present our major awards, 10 and 15 Year trophies and Honours With Distinction trophies.
