Our Performance Groups have been outstanding this year, achieving high results and showcasing some of Studio D’s best dancing!
We are so proud of our dancers, teachers and their supportive parents. Their dedication and improvement over the year has been fantastic.
Our dancers performed at over 9 competitions and events throughout the year!
Some highlights include:
Dance Aid – a charity performance that out Intermediates competed in
AASCF competitions – taking our dances to All Star competitions and both Inters and Seniors Placing in the top 3
KAR competition – Finishing the year at KAR was fabulous, it was a different style of competition, but led to a fabulous time
Road trip to Geelong – All of our Performance Groups enjoyed our travel competition in Geelong, where we had a great group meal and then went on to perform fantastic routines
AASCF Nationals – For the first time ever our Studio D Duo (Gemma and Claudia) qualified for AASCF Nationals where they placed 8th in the country!
With all of that in 2017… bring on 2018!!!

What an amazing day of talented dancers! Congratulations to dancers, student teachers and teachers for all of their hard work. A huge thank you to Kelly Miller our fantastic adjudicator and all of our volunteers, Siobhan, Mairead, Stephanie, Bridget, Kathleen, Melissa, Sarah and Dave.
I was thoroughly impressed with the standard of choreography our dancers performed on the weekend. It was very inspiring to see the creativity of our Studio D dancers and the way in which they executed their dances.
Congratulations too, to our special performances! It was wonderful to see what you have been working on in class and to see such great work so early in the year.

One of our teachers Stephanie Barcham and past student Azita Nan Tie competed at the Dance Worlds in Orlando Florida last weekend. Their team the Monash Mystics, qualified to compete at World after placing 1st at the 2016 AASCF National Competition in Open Pom.
The Mystics made it through to finals at Worlds and placed 14th out of 33 competitors. A huge congratulations to Stephanie, Azita and her team, we are very proud of all of your hard work and the way in which you represented Australian dance, congratulations.

Solo competitions started last weekend at Energy Dance Competition.

Our Intermediate Performance Group’s special event for this year was to participate in the Australian all Star Cheerleading Federation Victorian State Championship.
The State Championship is a huge competition with about 5000 participants in Victoria alone. The girls had a blast at this competition and enjoyed attending a different style of competition. Their performances were beautiful and it was lovely to see the girls support the Studio D teachers who were also competing at the same event.

Studio D teacher Anastasia Ross and Past Student Azita NanTie competed at the University Dance Worlds this past week!
It’s amazing to see our Studio D dancers perform on the Worlds’ stage in such a high caliber competition! Anastasia performed with Deakin Topaz placing 7th and Azita performed with the Monash Mystics placing 5th.
