I remember when I first started dancing 7 years ago I would watch the older girls dance on stage at the concert in their bright, sparkly dresses, and that is where my love of dance came from. The 2017 Studio D concert was by far the best i’ve ever experienced. The costumes and choreography topped any other year and the atmosphere backstage, side stage and in the foyer beforehand was just incredible. It was also a very happy and emotional concert for many dancers, receiving special awards and many receiving their 10, 15 and 20 year awards. I know that the Studio D concerts will continue to grow and 2018 will be just as amazing as this year!
Two of our Junior dancers, Hannah and Tahlia were given the opportunity to dance with the Melbourne City Ballet, in their December production of The Nutcracker!
We know it was a magical experience for the girls. It has been so exciting for our Studio D dancers to participate in professional ballets across Victoria! We hope there are many more performances to come!
It is our pleasure to announce that we are returning to Monash University’s Alexander Theatre in 2018 for our end of year concert.
We have had a wonderful two years at The National Theatre in St Kilda, and are very grateful to The National for taking us on, when The Alexander went under construction last year. However, we are really looking forward to getting to see the new renovations at The Alexander Theatre and to get to use the new facilities!
At our Studio D All Stars Concert last weekend, we were so pleased to present our major awards, 10 and 15 Year trophies and Honours With Distinction trophies.

To celebrate the end of 2017, Studio D is holding a free trial week in the week after the concert. Any enrolled student or new interested children may attend any class during the week of Monday 20th November – Saturday 25th November. Students may also bring a friend from outside Studio D to class.
Studio D students should wear their normal class uniform to these classes. Friends and interested children should wear clothing suitable for dance, eg. bike shorts, leggings etc…
Teachers will ensure classes include the new students and are a fun introduction to dance. It would be a great idea for current students to attend classes they wish to be in next year to get a taste for the class. Please refer to the timetable page on the website for when classes are held, all classes will run at their normally scheduled time.
